Andrew Albers called up by Blue Jays

Andrew Albers is expected to be called up to the Toronto Blue Jays before their game Friday night against the Cleveland Indians.

Andrew has been pitching for the Buffalo Bisons, the Blue Jays AAA team where he has started 4 games and has a 3.09 ERA this season.

Albers signed a minor league deal with Toronto in December and has been in the starting rotation in Buffalo for the start of this year. Andrew was in the MLB in 2013 when he made 10 starts for the Minnesota Twins

The North Battleford, Saskatchewan native would be the fifth Canadian to play for the Blue Jays this season joining Dalton Pompey, Russell Martin, Michael Saunders and Jeff Francis.
