2014 Summary: Andrew Robinson

TGB client Andrew Robinson is coming off of his best season in pro baseball to date. Houston’s 12th round pick in 2010 started the year with AA-level Corpus Christi, and went 4-2 with a 1.89 ERA in 20 appearances out of the bullpen. Robinson compiled 32 strikeouts and only 11 walks in 33.1 innings pitched while also picking up 2 saves for the Hooks. His impressive start to the season earned him a call-up in mid-June to the AAA-level Oklahoma City Redhawks.

After just 6 appearances for the Redhawks, the Atlanta Braves acquired the right-hander on July 4th. Robinson proved to be unfazed by the move as he went on to compile a perfect 5-0 record and 1 save with a 2.54 ERA for the Braves AA affiliate, the Mississippi Braves. Over his final 36.1 innings pitched, Robinson struck out 36 batters while only walking 3, an impressive stretch that spanned 23 appearances.

Heading into his first spring training with the Braves, Robinson hopes to make a strong impression with his new organization and their revamped front office. Robinson is likely slated for the AAA-level Gwinnett Braves to start the year as he looks to build upon a strong 2014 season.
