First-rounder White gravitated to Toronto's Corosky

University of Kentucky Wildcats first baseman Evan White was given a $3.25 Million US signing bonus by the Seattle Mariners.

White, from Gahanna, Ohio, was selected 17th over-all in the draft,  

Now, the Canadian diamond community might be like fans during pre-game introductions at a college hoops game with their reaction: 

Who cares? 

So what!

Well, since you asked, White’s signing could cause a shift in the agent landscape on the Canadian market place for Canadian players down the road.

TGB Signs Christian Turnipseed

TGB is pleased to announce the signing of Baltimore Orioles prospect Christian Turnipseed. The Littleton, Colorado native was drafted in the 28th round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Georgia Gwinnett. The right-hander did not allow an earned run in 28 and 1/3 innings during his professional debut in 2015, a streak that continued another 5 and 2/3 innings into the 2016 season. Turnipseed pitched to a 3.12 ERA in 2016 while converting 17 save opportunities. He struck out 57 batters in just 52 innings pitched and kept opposing hitters to a .212 average against. Turnipseed is excited to get the season started and is expected to earn a late inning role with High-A Frederick in 2017.
